Bathurst is about 12 kilometres inland from Port Alfred, on the R67. The little 1820 Settlers village of Bathurst is a peaceful haven situated in the midst of green hills and magnificent trees, in the centre of the district famous for pineapples and cattle. Our IPC office is situated next door to The Pig and Whistle Hotel, reputedly the oldest existing pub in the country. Built in 1831 by Thomas Hartley, a blacksmith who came from Nottinghamshire with the 1820 Settlers. Visit the Toposcope, the famous Big Pineapple, the Bathurst Agricultural Museum and many other interesting tourist attractions.
