Location
Situated at the lower end of the Langkloof Valley near Joubertina and Twee Rivier alongside the deciduous fruit farming operations.
Distance from PE = +- 180km and there is only +- 3 ½ kms of good gravel road.
Access is possible in any vehicle with good ground clearance however as with all farms a 4 x 4 is best whenever it rains really hard.

Size
The farm is 21, 76 hectares in size.

Description
The farm is tucked away in a secluded valley which runs parallel to the R62 but is one valley to the north of the R62. The property encompasses one slice/side of the valley and the valley floor itself which contributes towards a good balance between fertile soils covered by palatable grazing and some valley bushveld plus then the shallow/rocky soils supporting the fynbos biome. In addition there is also a spectacular kloof located in the North West corner which can be hiked. There is an old 4X4 trail that scales the mountain range preceding the Kouga River and this trail traverses some neighbouring farms but the owners are open to the use thereof. This same sentiment applies to a hiking trail on the neighbouring farm which follows the permanent stream to a huge waterhole known locally as “Perdegat”. The property feels much larger than its quoted size based on the elongated shape plus the sloping terrain. The farm has frontage onto a permanent stream which feeds the Kouga River plus there is also a seasonal stream which traverses the property. Both streams have historically cut deep ravines into the landscape and there are awesome cliffs and rock features on display.

Veld types
Mainly fynbos with lots of proteas, pin cushions, sugerbush, a multitude of flowers, honeybush tea, various succulents, and so on. As discussed there is also good grazing along the valley floor which is able to support the game on the property. The area also has some valley bushveld and tree species include: both wild and false olive, rhus, sand olive and spekboom to name just a few. The chance of there being cycads is also very plausible judging by all the cycads found on the neighbouring farms. The end result is a diverse variety of plant types and land forms.

Rainfall / water
The farm falls in a predominately winter rainfall area, with an annual average of approximately 450mm/annum.

Game species
Lots of indigenous bird life as well as small numbers of bushbuck, klipspringer, duiker, grysbok, mountain reedbuck, bushpig and baboon. The neighbouring property has introduced a few extra species of game such as springbuck, eland and gemsbuck.

Improvements
This property is still a blank canvas as far as buildings are concerned and there are several quality building sites for an eco or conventional home and all of which allow one to become absolutely immersed with the nature.

The southern most part of the farm is fenced into a camp as this gently sloping area can be used for small scale farming whereas the rest of the farm is more of a wilderness habitat best left open for the free roaming game as listed above.

A borehole on a nearby farm can be used to provide water for stock and domestic use.

It offers an affordable getaway where all the basics have already been done and all that remains is that one lucky owner needs to put their own stamp of approval on this property by placing and erecting some form of accommodation.
